Sahar Karimian

Registered Psychotherapist

Heart Talk Therapy is a psychotherapy and counselling practice led by Sahar Karimian, a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario.

Sahar brings over ten years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan—from young children to older adults—as well as couples and families. Her work has taken place across a variety of settings, including early intervention, residential care, family environments, and community-based services, shaping a grounded understanding of diverse needs and life experiences.

Her experience with neurodivergent individuals and their families began in Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI), where she developed a strong foundation in behaviour, regulation, and early development. She later supported youth and families in residential and home settings, and guided youth through employment and post-secondary transitions through both individual support and workshops.

These experiences have shaped an understanding of neurodivergence that extends beyond behaviour, encompassing emotional, relational, and lived experience. While her background includes Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), her therapeutic work centres the inner experience—supporting individuals in making sense of how they feel, respond, and relate to themselves and others.

In her work as a psychotherapist, Sahar supports individuals, couples, and families in moving toward a more connected and authentic way of being—both within themselves and in their relationships. Her approach is trauma-informed and integrative, drawing from modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and somatic and attachment-based approaches.

At the heart of her work is a humanistic and compassionate approach. She offers a space that feels safe, non-judgmental, and gently paced—where there is room to slow down and make sense of what’s coming up.

Heart Talk Therapy is dedicated to welcoming new clients, making session booking simple, and sharing valuable mental health resources through its blog — featuring articles, self-care practices, and insights from psychotherapy. The practice offers both in-person sessions in Barrie, Ontario and secure online therapy across Ontario, within a calm and supportive space designed to encourage healing and growth.
